Collins Munene
Collins Munene is regional director for Africa at Room to Read, an organization that believes World Change Starts with Educated Children.®
In his role, Collins provides leadership and management support to Room to Read’s programs in South Africa, Tanzania, and project work in Uganda, as well as oversees the growth and expansion of Room to Read in the Africa region.
A seasoned veteran boasting over two decades of experience, Collins holds expertise in strategy, governance, operations, partnerships, and program design and delivery. With a network that spans across Africa and beyond, Collins’ strength lies in country and program expansion, and he’s proud to call over 10 African countries home.
His upbringing in the heart of Nairobi's slums has instilled in him a deep-rooted belief in education as the ultimate equalizer. As the chair of the board of management in secondary schools across Kenya, Collins is committed to mentoring and supporting both students and teachers across the country. In his free time, Collins can be found working in his dairy cow shed or poultry farm. Collins is a devoted husband and father to four adorable children.
